Woodall's Self Defense

Real-Life Self Defense for Heroines and Heroes

So...your heroine (or hero) just got attacked, and isn't a quick-draw Western legend or a muscle-morphing superhero. What does your character really need to know in order to defend against a powerful attacker?

Theo Schubert, Head Instructor at Woodall's Self Defense, will demonstrate and teach practical techniques you and your characters can use to defend yourselves in those heart-pounding, life-or-death situations.

Worth noting: SVR President Anna Stewart attributes a previous Woodall's presentation with inspiring a whole new series!

Speaker's Bio

Theo Schubert, and his wife, Krystal, are head instructors at Woodall's. They have over a decade of teaching and training experience working directly with Mr. Woodall. WSD in Loomis, CA specializes in training children and adults in practical self-defense skills for real-world situations.

The WSD system, called Won Yuen Fa, began with the idea that no individual martial art provided the realistic self-defense needed for the violence in today's society. As a seasoned martial artist and police officer serving the city of Sacramento, Conrad Woodall created a system to blend the best aspects of martial arts with ground fighting and military combat techniques. Students learn physical skills for varying levels of confrontation; mental skills like focus, awareness, and boundary setting; and knowledge in areas of avoidance, de-escalation, and legal and appropriate use of force.

Because of the scope of Woodall's training, its realistic approach, and the depth of knowledge of its instructors, Woodall's has worked with some truly wonderful organizations such as W.E.A.V.E., Courage to Be You, The Child Abuse Council, Peace for Families, UC Davis Pain Management Clinic, the State of California, and various churches, businesses, and other organizations.
